The Willow Globe Company

Shakespeare Link is proud to have its own resident Willow Globe Company drawn from the local community and providing Shakespeare for mid-Wales and wider audiences. Its members range in age from 4-84, with all kinds of backgrounds, professions and experience, but sharing a common passion for Shakespeare and working together. The Willow Globe Company presents an annual open-air production in May, then tours through Heritage sites and gardens around mid-Wales.

Previous productions have included The Merchant of Venice, Macbeth, As You Like It, Hamlet, Twelfth Night and Romeo & Juliet, all of which were received with acclaim and had excellent reviews.

Our reputation for clear, accessible and extremely entertaining Shakespeare is now firmly established and demand for our productions is high.

2012's A Midsummer Night's Dream was selected by the RSC to perform as part of their Open Stages programme at the Sherman Theatre, Cardiff and Stratford-upon-Avon.  All's Well That Ends Well in 2013 continued the barnstorming tradition wiith a colourful and resonant show which played to enthusiastic receptions at home and on tour for CADW's Tretower Court, Glasbury Arts and the Wyeside Arts Centre.

2014's production of the Merry Wives of Windsor welcomes old friends and new blood to the cast, and we are delighted that Tom Syms from the Wet Mariners will be working with us on this.
